I was invited as a guest in honor, from the Photography Club I started photography a while ago. It was back in 1997 when I discovered that there was a magic place at the ground floor of my Law School, ironically and symbolically under it's toilets. I instantly fell in love with the darkroom, the people and the energy of the space. I spent most of my time developing films, discussing photography and dreaming about the big time when I would eventually become a full time photographer. Even though I had experimented as a high school student with photography and I had been taking photos since an early age, it was there that I somehow matured. So, years passed and one day in 2015 I received an invitation to go back, do portfolio reviews and deliver workshops. I was amazed by the high standards this club has and deeply moved to be given the keys from Aris. It felt that no time had passed. Only the big tree outside the space was a reminder of time, I remember it as a tiny bush.
Anyway, nostalgia is a weird thing.
I delivered two talks, two workshops and saw the work of approximately 35 people. I selected ........for my workshop on How to do a project
and .....on From Idea to Dummy to Book. Our plan is to organize an exhibition within a year from now, so watch this space for May 2016.
